Status Page: When you first go the the light control website the first page you see will be the status page where you can see the status of each of the lights, boiler, the ac mains, the motion sensor, whether the system thinks it is day or night and the status of the various timers. You cannot control anything from this page.

Hamburger Menu: In the upper left of most of the web pages you will see three horizontal bars. Click on this to bring up the menu for that page You can make the menu disappear by clicking on a non text area of the menu Controlling the lights and the watercop: The lights can always be controlled manually from the normal wall switches. In the case of the watercop, it has push buttons on its front panel

Light control: The lights can always be controlled manually from the normal wall switches. The exception is the House numbers-- they can only be changed from the web. After choosing the light you want to control just toggle it on or off with the large button. The button will be lit or unlit to show its current state. The current state shown will even be shown if the light is turned on or off manually from the wall switch. You can choose a brightness setting for when you use this toggle button. The light will fade on and off. If you choose a brightness setting of 0 the light will turn on at the last setting is was used at (even if done manually with the wall switch. On this page you can also choose what happens at dusk and what happens with a motion event. On at sunset off after delay means that it will turn off so much time after sunset. The time is set in the dusk/dawn settings accessable on the Settings page. Note that dusk and motion events must also be enabled with a checkbox on the Motion and Dusk/Dawn pages in the Settings menu. Note: motion events will only turn on lights if it is nightime. House numbers: The color of the light can be changed with the sliders. Dusk/Dawn checkbox will turn the lights on at dusk and off at dawn On at poweron checkbox will turn on the light after power failure. It is recommended that this be checked. House numbers (and indeed all lights) are turned off at dawn.

Motion Control: On each lights page you can select what happens with a motion event. Motion events must also be enabled globally on the Motion page. On the motion page you can select how long a light will be on after a motion event and how long motion events will be ignored after a motion event. You can also suspend (Motion Snooze) for a period of time selected by the slider. Checkbox must be checked for motion snooze to occur. A motion snooze can be cancelled by unchecking the snooze box and Submitting After a motion event has expired the light controlled will revert back to the state it was at before the motion event. Motion events will only turn on lights if it is nighttime.

Dusk Control: The timer for dusk is based on the latitude and longitude set in linux crontab. In linux do a crontab -e. It is set for civil sunrise and civil twilight. Civil twilight is 1/2 hour after sunset. All lights are turned off at sunrise.

Notifications: Notifications can be set for motion events, sunset, and website rebooted. Notifications use an application called Pushbullet which is installed on your phone. At Pushbullet.com (use Google sign in) you can set up devices that notifications are sent to. There is a pushbullet token. You can see that in the "Show Settings" menu in the Settings menu. If for some reason sign in does not work you can create your own Pushbullet account and get a new token. You can change to token by editing the writedefaultsettings.py file in /var/www/python directory. You will need to run Restore Defaults in the settings menu. Note about motion events: Event though motion events will not turn on lights during the daytime you will still get motion notifications if notifications are turned on.

Other: In Settings menu: Show Settings: Shows the state of all settings. This is queried by the software during operation. You cannot change these here. Restore Defaults: Puts all settings at original conditions. This turns off all motion events, all dusk dawn settings and all notifications. Cancel Timers: This stops and motion timers and turns off lights turned on by motion It stops all light event timers (delayed turn off) that start at dusk It stops the motion snooze timer. Testing: Enable: For any action on this page (except Daylight setting and seconds setting) to take effect this box must be checked. Seconds: Turns minutes into seconds on all the timers so you can quickly see if the behavior you want is happening. Simulation a motion event: Does just what you would expect. Note: Motion events must be enabled and it must be night time (a setting on this testing page) for lights to activate. Daylight: Set to daylight, nightime or ambient. For example motion events will not turn on lights if it is daylight. In show settings the ambient setting is set to one at sunrise and 0 at sunset. When you click on ambient it gets that reading from the show settings. Simulate a sunset: will make all lights behave as they would at a sunset Simulate a sunrise: Turns off all lights at sunrise. A reboot or power cycle will cancel all Testing settings. NOTE: The Lutron dimming switches that this controls should have their fade off time set to the fastest setting . See Application note #703 for the Lutron MA-Pro wall switch.
